​There's a moment a lot of parents over 40 describe to me, it’s usually early in some our first conversations.
That's usually when it starts to feel real.

After 18 years of coaching, I've worked with enough people in this situation to know that it's not about age. It's about the fact that most of us stop training for athleticism at some point — stop building strength and power, stop working on mobility with any real intention — and the body reflects that over time.
​
The frustrating part is that most programs available for people over 40 aren't built to fix this. They're built around weight loss, or general conditioning, or injury rehabilitation. Those things have their place. But they don't address the underlying issue, which is that your body needs to be trained like an athlete's — with real strength work, power development, and mobility that actually transfers to how you live — or it gradually loses the capacity to perform like one.
